The LeicestershireLive Innovation Awards 2023 took place on Thursday 16th February 2023 at the National Space Centre in Leicester and Professor Chris Brightling attended the award ceremony on behalf of the PHOSP-COVID Consortium. The Innovation Awards celebrate the very best technology, services, digital advances and creative thinking that Leicestershire has to offer.
The PHOSP-COVID study was shortlisted for the Innovation in Med-tech and Life Sciences award which celebrates innovators whose ideas have made an impact nationally and internationally, but also those who are making small changes to help their businesses become more competitive, productive, and profitable. The PHOSP-COVID study received the award, being praised for its collaboration between researchers and clinicians across the UK; and for its role in gaining insights into understanding the longer-term effects of COVID-19, helping to affect clinical practice and government policy, and informing new plans for the treatment of long covid.
